1995 Java News

December 14, 1995
Symantec has released Espresso, a Java IDE. I haven't seen it yet myself, but it seems to be a way of wrapping the IDE from their Windows 95/NT C++ compiler around Sun's JDK. The Java tools are freely available from their web site, but you will need a copy of the Symantec C++ 7.2.1 Development System to use it. A Mac version is promised in January. Symantec probably needs to wait for Sun to port the JDK to the Mac. For more details see Symantec's Java Central.
