Some notes for the undergraduates

How many undergraduates?

How many for whom this is your first graduate course?

A graduate course is harder. More work is expected of you. More independent work is expected of you. Not everything you need to know will be covered in class. There's simply not enough time.

Assignments are incompletely specified. It is up to you to make reasonable interpretations and design choices by analyzing the actual problem to be solved.

Number grades are in general quite low, but final grades can be quite high.
