Another important web site is Sun's JavaSoft's division at http://java.sun.com/. This is where you'll find the official word about Java including documentation, software, announcements, a tutorial, and much other useful information. You should explore it now.
Of particular note is the class library documentation at http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/api/. You will need to refer to this again and again. You can also download a zip or tar file of this documentation and install it on your own PC.
