Sun's posted the second release candidate of the NetBeans Integrated Development Environment (IDE) 4.0. NetBeans is available for Windows, Linux, the Solaris(tm) Operating System and Mac OS X. New features in version 4 include:

• Java 1.5 support
• A new project system based on Ant
• Java 2, Micro Edition (J2ME) MIDP development support
• Refactoring including renames (class/method/field), move class, rename package, change method parameters, and encapsulate field.
